Ok, so I just got my sonoline B doppler in the mail and it's not detecting ANY noise...no static, nothing...not even when I touch the probe. I've turned the volume up and down, put headphones in and taken headphones out...nothing. What am I doing wrong?
When I turn it on, there is a brief static noise, and then nothing. The probe is definitely picking up things as it displays numbers when I run my hand across the probe, but no sound.
Someone please help me, I think I'm having a blonde moment.
Re: Sonoline B Help!!!!! Please!
Mine worked perfectly for a week (and a finally found the heartbeat last night!) and then stopped working today. Here is the problem I am having: I can "hear" the difference between off and on, but the machine makes no sound when in contact with skin, no "interference sound" between the wand and device, etc.
I emailed the Seller and they said this: "it could be a loose contact between the probe and doppler . Please try to tighten the connector."
Hope this helps -- the manual that comes in the box is totally worthless.
Try pushing the probe cord into the machine. Mine comes out a bit ALL the time. Also, what setting is your on? I left mine on the first, and I get the best range of sound on that setting.
Some random things that help me find the hb asap were:
When you use it, try lotion as opposed to bare skin. The ultrasound gel is super cheap on amazon, and a little goes a long way. Also, check REALLY far down, like at the base of your pubic hair. I feel my uterus right under my belly button, and my LO still likes to chill out as low as possible. I almost always here the heartbeat there.
Don't push too hard either. Just use the probe like a joystick if you think you hear something before moving completely away from the spot. Don't freak out if it takes a while to find it the first few times. It takes practice. Good luck!
Thanks for all your help and advice ladies. Still nothing, even after taking the plug in and out, using more gel, etc. etc. Pretty sure it's defective...when I turn it on dashes on the screen are dark...but after a few seconds they start to fade. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with the device. I'm going to call the company and hopefully they'll send me a new one.
I just really wanted to hear my baby again! I heard it this morning at the MW's but...it would have been nice to listen to it again today. Oh well. Good things come to those that wait, right?

Wow, I thought you couldn't hear the hb with a doppler until 12-13 weeks. Now I'm really tempted to buy one.... hmmmm....
Where did you buy it? I didn't see it on Amazon.com.
I think the thinner you are the easier it is, and depending on which way your uterus is tilted. I bought mine on eBay through EastShoreMedical, I think I bought it Thursday night and it came today. It came with a tube of gel, but it's not even worth it (it's like one of those trial size packets)...just use aloe or KY. Make sure to get the 3 mghz if you want to hear the hb now
