We took DD at 15 months. The visit went well but the cleaning had DD screaming. They don't always do a cleaning but we had a concern about possible staining that luckily came right off. But he sent us off with a bunch of different toothbrushes for DD and some helpful tips. I'm glad we went.
We went at 8 months but DD had 4 teeth. Now at a year she has 10 and trying a couple of others. In the next couple of months she will go in for floride.

our pedi, regular dentist, and pedi dentist all said age 3, so we're taking DD1 in pretty soon. They said before that, it's really just to get the kids used to being in there, and show us (parents) how to properly brush teeth and check that teeth are coming in fine (which our pedi did anyway). They probably won't do any teeth cleaning until around age 3.

We went to the pedi dentist around 15 mo. They looked at her teeth, gave me tips for brushing, brushed some flouride on her teeth and $100 later we were out the door.
Every dentist is different, I called the one we want for LO and they told me to bring him right in. They see babies around a year if they have teeth and Isaiah has 5.5 teeth... His appointment is next week so we will see how that goes!
They told me its a quick exam and a flouride rinse. they will do Xrays if they see anything they want to take a closer look at.

We starting taking our oldes with us to our appts at 2 1/2 just to sit and watch, so she sat through 2 appts for each of us. Then we took her for the first check up at 3 1/2. She LOVED IT. Was so excited to go to the dentist like mommy and daddy and wasn't scared at all since she'd seen us do it. No cavities, no issues so we were really happy with it overall. Our dentist said unless you have a history of really bad teeth in the family a dentist isn't necessary until their a bit older.
