Stocking up - baby wipes

Just curious - how many containers of baby wipes do you plan to buy before the baby is born? I have two containers (each have a 64 count) and I am assuming they won't last more than two weeks and I think I'm being overly generous with that guestimate!  I think I may buy two more containers.

  • Can't hurt to get more! Just get the unscented kind, cause you don't know yet if LO will be sensitive to smells.

  • I only bought small amounts of wipes and diapers -- two kinds of each, figuring I won't know what works best until I try them.  The nice thing is that diapers.com delivers next-day so I'll just order more as soon as I decide what to use.
  • We went through a whole container in the first week, I would stock up on more beforehand just in case.
  • I'd buy the refill boxes this week. Target is having a sale on them. Buy 2 boxes and get a $5 GC plus there are ALWAYS coupons to stack with.

  • Why  not just buy refill packs instead of all those containers?

On Amazon Mom, I got 3 packs of 216 count refills (Huggies Natural Care Fragrance Free) for $11.57 total.  That comes out to $0.017/wipe.  Best deal ever I believe!

  • Ithink with DS we just bought a refill case when we needed. It has 7 wipe packs in there. Right now pack of wipes lasts us a few weeks. So granted we will have to buy wipes more frequently now with DD, but we already have a stock. And don;t keep buying the plastic tubs, Just buy the refills and reuse the tubs.

  • Agree with ALL the PP's who said to buy refill pkgs! Unless you need a tub for different rooms, that's fine. (I have one in my living room, 2 in the nursery, and 1 each in 2 bathrooms of the house for my potty training daughter.) I have 2pkgs of refills, each with 3 tub refills. I think that altogether, that should last me at least a few weeks.

It's amazing all the uses you have for wipes- it's not just for diaper clean ups, it's also good for when you finish nursing to wipe milk off baby's face and the creases of their neck to prevent a yeast infection in the neck folds.

  • I love Target brand wipes and have already bought one of the hugest boxes of refills they sell (12 or 18 packs? I forget exactly). Since I already had to break into them for DD#1 I'll probably get another huge box again this week. You can never, ever have too many wipes! Just buy the unscented ones (you get more in a pack for those anyway, at least at Target.).
  • Thanks everyone. Honestly, I had no idea they came in refill packs. I actually received the two containers as shower gifts. Now that I know, I can keep one container on the first floor and the other container on the second floor. :)

  • Do the Subscribe and Save on Amazon Mom! I have wipes set up on auto-delivery. 840 wipes every 3 months for $19. You figure 2-3 wipes per diaper change (8x's a day).. that's a lot of wipes!
  • I have 2 large cases from costco they each have 1000 wipes. I got them with coupons, then I got about 6 at my shower. I sent some over to my mom and MIL.
