I'm sure this has been asked a billion times already, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any good child birthing classes in the area, preferable in rosedale. This is my first pregnancy and I haven't got the slightest cue where to start looking for classes so I just figured I'd start here. Any info would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Re: Child Birthing Classes?
What hospital will you be delivering at? They all have birthing classes. Personally, I attended childbirthing class at Franklin Square Hospital - not far from you - and thought it was a pretty informative class.
Your OB should be able to point you in the right direction.

DH and I just finished our 4 week class today at Franklin Square. I thought it was informative, there were some that were redundant, but overall I feel that it was worth it.
We did the classes at GBMC. I liked them a lot. The information about blowing through a contraction in order to not push is the ONLY thing that saved my daughter from being "caught" by the nurse before the NICU team and the OB arrived.
We actually didn't get to have our last class because our daughter decided to come so early! DD was still in the NICU when we were suppossed to have our final class. So DH walked down to the class and took a picture of our daughter for everyone to see. The nurse educator that runs the class asked him to talk about our experience with the hospital and with the NICU and then gave the other couples a chance to ask him questions.
If you want a hospital based class, the hospital you are delivering at should have them. If you want a natural birth class like Bradley, you can look for those online, they are given by trained teachers. https://www.bradleybirth.com/
did you do this from the website? when does your class start? Im very close DD to you and I am also delivering at GBMC! yay

For the past 5 years I have taught at a Baltimore hospital as well as privately. They are two very different classes. Hospital classes are very informative yet stick to the essentials. A class under 12 (or even under 16) hours will stick to the most important basics. A longer series (12+ hours) should cover topics and coping techniques in a more detailed way. The feel of the class can also differ depending on the size. For instance my hospital classes with 7-10 couples on average, while fun, are less "social" than the smaller 5 couple max. Hospitals do offer more class times to choose from and are generally less expensive. However if you are interested in a natural birth privately taught classes may be a better bet. Hope this helps a bit.
