I went to the doctor the other day and she said that he's measuring a little small for how far along we are. I'm 37 weeks and every visit up until now has been normal. The doctor said that she's going to have us have an ultrasound to check on him but not to worry. Has anyone else had this??
Re: baby measuring small??
One of my babies measures below the 10th percentile for size and has since our 20-week ultrasound. We've had lots of testing and it really seems that she's just small. Babies are born at such different weights - they can't all be the perfect average size.
The measurements they do at this point have a big margin of error, so even if your ultrasound also shows him as small, I wouldn't be worried. You're really far along now, and your baby could be safely delivered if anything required it. But size alone should not require delivering early.
With Drew I consistently measured big/ahead. With this baby I'm measuring small. Doc really isn't concerned and neither am I. It's just an estimate and it doesn't necessarily tell you how big the baby is (even an ultrasound is still a size estimate).
You (and baby) will be just fine!
