Waiting Period

We recently lost our baby at 9 weeks 3 Days. We went for our ultrasound and found that the baby stopped growing around 5 weeks 3 days. What is the consensus on the amount of time to wait to try again? We have heard all types of opinions, 6 months, 3 months, 0 months. We don't want to try again too soon and have this happen again.

    About 2 cycles after the miscarriage is over seems to be about average when it is that early.  I would say double ck with the Dr just in case.

    I had a mc at 5 weeks and my doctor said just wait for one normal cycle . I'm sorry for your loss .

    I'm so sorry for your loss...This is a very tough time (hugs)

    You need to talk to your Dr.-Some say wait others say after a m/c you are more fertile!   It helps to talk to the Dr. b/c they may need to check to insure that all has healed/cleared properly before trying again.

    Im so sorry for your loss. Defiantly check with your doctor to make sure. There is usually a reason for it if they tell you to wait a cycle or two (healing time, emotionally and physically). Mine said to wait until my first AF after the MC to try again. It just depends on your situation. Other than that, do what feels right to you. If you feel like you need to wait a few cycles, it's perfectly fine. We all know what you mean about not wanting it to happen again.

    Thanks everyone! I have a follow up visit on Wednesday, so I will ask a bunch of questions. I really appreciate your responses. It is nice to have some advice from people who are also in my situation. It's hard to talk to people who have no idea how difficult this time is. Good luck to all of you!

    my friend had a chemical at 5 weeks 4 days....she got pregnant again right away and it stuck. her doctor told her that it was fine to start trying again right away and that she didnt have to wait for another AF.  it must be different per situation.

    I am so sorry for your loss.  Everyone is different so it just deprends on what your dr. says.  GL an I hope you get all your questions answered at your appt.

    Update! I went to my appt yesterday and was told that we can start trying again when we feel we are ready, so that was good news. Also, I am still having some bleeding, so I got antibiotics, as a precaution to infection, and progesterone to help the removal. I will be going back in 2 weeks for a follow up again. Seems like I am there more than I am at home lately. I also will need to repeat blood work to follow my HCG levels down to 0. The numbers are still a little high.
