Snow outside? Bring it inside

Gisele has been asking NONSTOP to go out and play in the snow (we got out AT LEAST 3x a day to play in it-) and I just was NOT in the mood to go out this morning.

I filled up a baking pan with snow and gave her a squirt and a spray bottle with water and food coloring in it and she sat at the kitchen table and played with the snow.

It seriously kept her occupied for at least 2hrs today.

Re: Snow outside? Bring it inside

  • I tried bringing some in for DS.  He decided to throw it att the dogs and then dump it it all on the kitchen floor (which is wood).  The floors got an unexpected clean that day!  Glad Gisele had fun though :)

  • We did the same thing! I brought it inside in two big pots and then let him scoop it with big spoons. A total hit! So simple, but such a great idea!

  • I tried that, too, but Miles is not a fan of the snow, whether it's inside or out.

  • it's 75 degrees here =/
  • We have done that before. DS loved putting it in his loaders and to the dump truck, etc.

Andrew LOVES doing this.  I discovered it last year after DD was born and I couldn't bring her out with him.  It is working this year also since she still hates the snow (and frankly I hate being in it also. . . )  He thinks he's getting away with something when I bring the snow in the kitchen;-)

In other news- how's that Philly snow doing?  We are in San Diego (flew out on Thursday which was just plain luck that the plane got off the ground. . .)  I hear it just keeps falling.

Yeeeeaaaah, Tuesday night, in theory.  Good thing we have a friend staying at our house to keep the cats company or they would be super mad at us by the time we finally get back there.  I thought this winter wasn't supposed to be bad????  I'll e-mail you whenever we do get back into town and we'll set something up.  In the mean time I'll enjoy this "crappy" 65 degree San Diego weather.
