I like the snapped with the extra insert over the snapless. Also even with my son being 20 pounds the snapless is so big that it gaps a bit at the legs and sometimes we can get leaks when he side sleeps. (And yes, I know how to put a snappi on tight.)

Have you tried folding down the rise to make the diaper shorter? It should provide a better fit in the legs if you do that.
