I just read an article that said the optimum time to introduce a sippy is between 7-9months.
We've been using one with our DD for a while (she refuses a bottle) and she takes it okay, but after reading this I'm gonna try giving it to her a little more often.
We started him on sippy cups around 5.5 months. He did amazing with them and now refuses to take a bottle.
I would just introduce it whenever you feel your LO is ready and you are comfortable, I don't think there is a specific time when you are "suppose" to.

Same problem - he's totally rejecting bottle. Used to be ok with them now he's not having any part of it. Little stinker! That's why I was wondering about the sippy. Have to give it a try soon. He's 6 months next week.
We introduced it a couple of weeks ago (around 6.5 months), she can hold it and sucks on the nub (it's one of the ones she has to bite on to get the liquid out) but doesn't know how to tip it back to drink yet but she drinks when I tip it back for her and she is quickly learning how to do it herself.
I just bought her a sippy to "play" with last week (a week after DD turned 6 months old) and she has been playing with it. She hasnt figured out that she needs to tip it back. She doesn't really love bottles so I am hoping that she would take the sippy better.
We introduced one around 6 months. DS never took a bottle so we thought we'd try to see if he'd use the sippy cup. He still doesn't know that he has to tip it back to drink unless I show him. He's getting better at it than before. He used to think it was a toy and just chew on the spout or bang it around.
