Cloth Diapering

CDing and FFing

OK ladies.  I currently use a cloth diaper service but am thinking about buying my own stash to save money.  I'm curious about washing diapers when you formula feed.  Is it more labour intensive since the poop isn't water soluble like breast milk poop (or is it??)?

TIA!

Re: CDing and FFing

  • FF is the same as EPF.  The only change comes when you introduce solids.
  • Hmm.. I have been googling this lots..fancy to come along your post! Haha! And I have nothing to go by, but from what I have read, is that a lot of people say FF poop is different than BF poop and you "should" use liners or flush the poop, BUT a lot of things I found on various places say that they don't do this until baby starts eating solid foods and their diapers come out just as clean as when they would EBF.

    But what do I know?

  • DS has been FF since 3 weeks and we started cloth around 2 months.  Before we started solids I just threw the diapers in the pail with no problems.

  • DD is exclusively FF. Before solids, her poo was perfectly water soluble and I didn't do anything differently. Just tossed them in the wash, and everything worked out fine.
