There's a popular post (scroll way down to the bottom) that uses this word and a few of the responses mentioned how much they hate this word. I've heard other people say this too. I personally think it's cute and have been guilty of using it myself.
If you don't like it, why not? Just curious.

I can't stand preggers, preggo, or hubby for that matter. The term just seems so childish to me
Hahahaha! So true. Didn't even realize.
I've never used the word preggers or prego because I hear all the girls who are like 16-18 use it like it's super cool. For instance, like the girls on "16 and Pregnant." It just doesn't sound like something an "adult" would use but I don't dislike anyone who uses the word. It's just one of those words I don't like.
I agree with pp, it seems very childish. Sorta like a group of adults calling penises "wee-wees" on a regular basis or something.
It sounds obnoxious and says "Hi I'm 12" IMHO, but if you like it go for it. It's NMS, but to each their own.
Ditto for preggo.

DS-IUI #1-4 BFN IVF #1 - BFP! It's a boy!!!
I think I'm really showing my age here and how long I've been a part of knot/nest/bump but I can't stand "BD" aka "baby dancing" either. Ugh, it's just an awful term. We are adults, we can say "having sex"
This. A little much to me but I don't really judge either way it's just not my style
Oh, yes. Though I don't usually gripe...I have always hated preggers (grow up and use the word pregnant). And Preggo (I am not a spaghetti sauce).
I also hate bestie (especially when people over the age of 16 use it. Just say best friend!). i am not fond of hubby, either.
I don't know why....
I find it degrading to pregnant women and not to mention really freakin annoying. It is on a different level than "kiddo". Sorry.
I think it's degrading too. I also agree that kiddo is slightly different. Although, it used to annoy me when my dad called me that too.
We are lucky the show isn't called "16 and Preggers"...
Ha!!!
I would only agree with this if you apply the same logic and abandon all the other silly abbreviations and acronyms used on the bump: DH, DS, LO, BFP. What is the threshold of discarded letters from text that dictates whether you're using your intelligence or not?

LOL!!! It's funny because it's true!
I guess I don't see it like that because I rarely use any of those, besides LO. I like typing out full words and using proper grammar (most days). But valid point for those who do use them!
damn times sure have changed since 2005 LOL
This ... plus I would like to add that I also hate the phrase "knocked up" or baby's mama or daddy"
I am married and in love...and this baby was made out of love and in no way an accident or an oops.
I also was pissed when I stopped by my husbands work and his coworker told him that his "baby's mama " is here. I AM HIS WIFE AND MOTHER TO HIS CHILD. ugh... but I think you ladies are right. I get to worked up about it.
This.

High risk for pre-term: weekly Makena injections
For real - no one talks like that in real life anyway. Sometimes I wish everyone would just type the way they talk (hmm, on second thought that could be a bad thing...). There are still a few acronyms that make me think too much, and that hurts these days. I still read the threads that say F/U doctors appt and think "F'ed up doctors appt? Interesting, I will check this out!" and am ultimately disappointed.

Honestly, I don't mind preggers/prego/knocked up if it's being used in a goofy way. Plus, I almost never heard it used IRL. Now that I see them on here so much, they start to bother me, because I think some people just use them as interchangeable for the word pregnant and don't realize how silly they sound.
I hate, HATE, when people call a pregnant woman "a prego" or a group of pregnant women "a bunch of pregos". Pregnancy is something we are experiencing, not what we are. Ick.
It makes you sound like a pregnant teen.
Of course you would say this.
I just don't care for cutesy anything. But I don't peg it to a particular age range.
The abbreviations don't bother me because I know many people access boards from their phones.
It sounds low-class, low-education, trashy, teen mom, etc.
I fully expect someone who says "Preggers" to own a pair of pants that says "Juicy" in sparkles on the ass.
Not too many Harvard grad moms are going to say "Preggers" in normal conversation...KWIM?
