DD can officially put herself to sleep!! She used to NEED us to feed her a bottle to go to sleep or be rocked, but now we can lay her in her bed awake with her bottle and she's out in minutes! AND she's finally STTN again. Thank you Lord!! It's so awesome now that she's gotten the hang of sitting up while playing and holding her bottle while laying down. lol I love watching her grow!!
Re: Kind of AW-ing here...
Isn't that a great feeling?
And totally not saying this in a snarky way, but you may not want to let her get used to falling asleep with her bottle. If she doesn't already have teeth, once she gets them that is a huge no no and is really bad for babies teeth. Can cause the little teeth to rot basically.

Yup
No worries, and totally not a mommy fail. No one knows everything, we all learn something from other people and mommies
I usually give DD her last bottle soon before bed... bring her in her room, change her one last time, brush her teeth, and sometimes read a story sometimes I don't (depends on what time it is and if she's REALLY tired or still fighting it a bit) that way she gets her bottle before bed but I can still brush her teeth and do our little bedtime routine. That last bottle of the night is the start of the routine.
I do remember the first time I laid her down awake though and she put herself to sleep. It's such a great feeling! whoo hoo! (I used to feed her and rock her to sleep then slip her in the bed but I started to try to break her out of that by rocking her less and less and putting her down more and more awake... I missed rocking her and snuggling but it's a great thing for them to learn how to go to sleep on their own

you can always put water in it if she needs it.
That could work too but obviously you have to be careful how much because while some water is ok, too much can throw off their electrolyte balance. (I think we're all pretty aware of that though
) It may be a comfort sucking thing? Does she take a pacifier you can use at night time if that's the case? that could work too (unless you're anti paci...) DD takes a paci and really only "needs" it at night. Pop it in her mouth and she falls asleep. She's also at that wonderful stage where she can find it and put it back in on her own now if it falls out. She's also learned that she doesn't *need* it if she wakes up at night, she can usually put herself back to sleep without it now. (Though sometimes I guess if she's teething, or cranky for some other reason she does need it and will cry if she can't find it herself)
