Childbirth Classes near Westfield, NJ

Hi,

 

I'm moving from North NJ to Westfield, NJ and am starting to research childbirth classes.  Anyone from that area have recommendations?? Thanks.

Hi I live in Westfield. I delivered at Overlook Hospital in Summit and they offered all types of classes.

Def  check  at the  hospital  you  will be  delivering at. We actually did  ours  through our  ob office. You  can ask  tehm  for  recommendations also.

I'm in Westfield too! We have a 3yo and while pregnant with him we took an AMAZING natural childbirth class in Chatham. It was run out of the instructor's home, kind of Bradley-based but definitely not a "Bradley method" childbirth course. (The woman taught Bradley for a long time but then kind of couldn't deal with its flaws anymore and went her own way.) The class was called Holistic Beginnings if you want to look it up; the woman's name is Laura. I just got the number from Googling it-- 973-635-6292.

Oh and also, in addition to that class, we took one at the hospital--Overlook (in Summit)--where we were delivering.... Let me tell you, on a scale of 1-10, the hospital course was about a 2. Maybe. And the private course was an 11!

Good luck!! I am due again this July, and I want to take another course with Laura.

Also, I know a good private lactation consultant in Westfield; her name is Ashley, number 908-461-6216. That can be very handy! (Trust me if this is your first! )
