20 in 20!!!

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday afternoon, we had a doctor's appointment and thankfully everything looks great, however there is one little flaw...

2 appts ago to last appts I gained one pound and from last appt to yesterday I gained 10 pounds in a month!!! In total I have gained 20 pounds, I am in disbelief, Ive been eating frequently but small meals except at lunch. Today I will start going to the gym to walk a little and bike for a total of 30 minutes just so I can control this a little. Even though I have been very lucky with no m/s but the tiredness has really taken a toll on me where all I want to do is rest and sleep..

I'm really worried..if i keep gaining 10 pds a month, in total I will have gained 60pds!! and I'm not carrying twins...

just wanted to vent...TIA for listening :(

Re: 20 in 20!!!

  • Girl, sometimes your body is gonna do what its gonna do. I gained 60lbs with Sophia, my first. I ate pretty much the same way with Isabelle and gained only 25lbs. I started Isabelle's pregnancy about 10lbs heavier than I did Sophia's so its not like I was holding on to a whole bunch of baby weight either.

Sometimes its not in your control. Go with the flow, be healthy and as active as is comfortable for you. Enjoy your pregnancy! Remember...you can and will lose the weight after. Pregnancy = Weight Gain. More for some than others. No way around that. :)

    *hugs*

  • exactly what mel said! in the beginning I was so nauseated that I lost weight. then I gained it all back and more, with a grand total of 48lb. I didn't eat horribly so I wasn't sure how that happened. oh well - your body's gonna do what it's gonna do! it's all worth it in the end.... :)

  • I'm in my 3rd trimester and I'm still puking.  I've gained 25 pounds.  Your body is going to do whatever it wants.

  • Your body will tell you what it needs! I think the best thing is too eat healthy (most of the time) but don't go crazy worrying about weight control. :)
  • Agree with the ladies!! Eat as healthy as you can and exercise is ok as long as it's nothing extreme and ok with your ob...all good for the health of the pregnancy! Gaining weight is part of the deal, some gain more than others!
