Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Just got back from the ER...again

So it's past 4 am and I am dead tired, but I had some severe pain in my lower abdomen and decided to go to the ER for the second time in as many weeks. Being at the place where I had my m/c was as bad as the pain. Worse, the nurse kept declaring that tonight was "Baby Night" because of all the laboring pregnant women in the ER - "Everyone's having a baby tonight!" Not me, stupid. Read the chart before you say things like that.

It turns out that I had a ruptured ovarian cyst, and my doc suspects that the hormone haywire from my pregnancy and subsequent m/c caused it. Great. I did find out that my ovaries do look normal (now), no endo, and no remainders of m/c. Plus my pregnancy test was negative, so it looks like things are resetting.

Has anyone ever had a ruptured ovarian cyst before?

Re: Just got back from the ER...again

  • If you are talking about cycsts rupturing...thats me. I too hve had that happen many times. I have PCOS and have been dealing with it for 10 or more years now. My pains seem to be quick, sharp, stabbing pains when a rupture happens. I have been told BC can help this....not something we are wanting to be  part of right now....still TTC after I get my cycle back after I finish this MC.

So all in all, glad to hear you are ok and this may be short lived for you. I hope so.

    Take care, get some rest.

  • I'm sorry you had to be in the ER and deal with an insensitive nurse :( I had a ruptured ovarian cyst when I was in college and it was by far the worst pain I've ever had. But once it was over, it was over, and I didn't have any more problems. I did have another cyst about 2 years later, but that one went away on its own.

  • I have not had an ovarian cyst rupture but I did have a cantalope size mass on my right ovary.  They had to remove the mass and ovary.  I still have the left one thankfully.

Good luck with everything.  Sorry you had to deal with an idiotic nurse.  The stupid ultrasound tech told me after comfirming my micarriage "well at least you won't be pregnant in the summer".....thanks biotch.  I was to "numb" to say anything.  Now I wish I had.
