I just had my OB appt, I'm 35 weeks and I'm dilated 1 1/2 cm, the doctor said to stay off walking or any activity until I'm 37 weeks just so we don't rish going into labor too soon. I know you can dilate for weeks but I'm wondering how early did everyone else start to dilate.
Re: when did you start dilating
At 36 weeks: nothing
At 37 weeks: nothing
At 38 weeks: I went from 1cm to 2cm within 2 hours! I almost went into labor Monday but after a while in the hospital it stopped!
Week 39: Next Week!!
At my 36 week appt I was 3cm dilated, 50% effaced and baby was at a 2 station..
It bought me no more work and bedrest so that baby stays in there until the 37 week mark of being full term.
I guess I should mention I've been contracting like its nobody's business everytime I change positions and/or move for the past week.. apparently they werent BH contractions after all ..
I'm right there with ya. I just spent Monday night in L&D because when I was checked at my appointment I was already 4 cm with bulging membranes. I was monitored all night and I was contracting, but they weren't painful at all. Yesterday morning, a different doctor (as I know interpretation of how far dilated one is can differ from doctor to doctor) measured me at 5 cm and could feel that his head was very low. I was told I'm also about 80% effaced. Well of course, we're hoping the little guy stays put for a few more weeks so I'm supposed to take it easy. Size is on his side though if he does come early, I also had an ultrasound at my appointment and he's measuring to be about 7 lbs 4 oz. My doctors are really wondering if my dating u/s (from a different practice) could have been off by 5-6 days. I have my next appointment Monday so we'll see if there's been any change.
With the 1st I had an internal at 34wks and was dilated 1cm.
With the 2nd I had my internal at 34wks and no dilation. I had another at 36wks and was dilated 2cm.
With this 3rd we are in the Army and I'm not sure how they do things.
