Schedules with one huge and one small

Cannon is really taking of weight wise and Cooper, well....not so much.  We go back to pedi on the 3rd for 2 mo appt so ill know weights then but its obvious theres a big size difference.

Cannon can really go 3 hrs during day and 4 at night.  Cooper goes 2-2.5 during day and 3 at night....often i will wake up cannon for my sanity.  Im not about to try to hold off cooper cause he needs the weight gain for his surgery coming up in april/may.

I would really rather not be feeding ALL day and night ( i already let Cannon go at night...) but i also dont want to deprive a kid in any way.

what did you do if your kids were 2+ lbs different from one another?

Cannon eating 90-105 ml

Cooper eating 60-70 ml

Re: Schedules with one huge and one small

  • My little one had reflux, and wanted to eat more often (but less per feeding), so I fed them separately.  It sucked, but it did not last forever.  I was able to get them on same/similar feeding schedule by the time they were about 5mos (3.5 adjusted).

  • Mine always have been and still are quite different in weight: 2 lbs different at birth, presently about 1 1/2 pounds different. I still always feed them at the same time. If one eats, I offer to the other one, too.

    If I didn't, I'd be constantly feeding.

  • My DD was 9lb 7oz at her 2m WBV.  DS was 14lbs 2 oz at his WBV (a week after hers).  I still feed them both at the same time, no matter what.  I just make sure that they both have the appropriate amount of formula for their body weight over the course of the day (which is 7 feedings for us).  I probably could give DS a larger amount at each feeding and reduce his feedings per day, but, on the chance that he won't, I'm keeping them both eating the same amount of times, per day.
