stroller help

I went to BRU and checked out some of the strollers. The one that I like the best is the chicco cortina travel system. its lightweight, and cute, and i think i can get the most use out of this bc the stroller converts to a "big boy" stroller after he is no longer an infant. Does anyone have this one? Love it? Hate it? Any other suggestions?

I can't help you with the stroller question, but the post signs look different to everyone. It becomes dark green again when someone else has posted in your post since you last looked at it. So your post sign should be dark green for you once I hit post. :)

  • Usually with infants it's easiest to get strollers the carseat snaps into. Find the combo of a carseat you like (and fits in your car correctly) and stroller you like (fold it up and walk around with it). That's the best advice I can give.

  • I have the Chicco Cortina Keyfit 30 and as far as travel systems go, ti works.  The stroller is big and bulky, but I have used it for 18 months with no problem.  My only advice is, getting the Keyfit 30 (which goes up to 30 lbs) is unnecessary.  There is no way I could carry a 25+ lb baby and the weight of the carseat.  By that time, the baby will probably be out of the bucket.  If you can, save the money.

  • I have it and we like it. It comes all together, so for a first time parent, its a good stroller and a good deal.

Knowing now what I know (and the fact that we are about to have baby #3), I personally would have gotten an infant seat, a Snap N Go and a decent umbrella stroller (like a Maclaren). The reason: the Maclarens are lightweight, easy to fold and in general, a really great stroller. Baby #2 will come around and then you need a double.

I still use our Cortina one when I just have DS2 and it has held up really well, but we have so many strollers now ;)

Again, if this is your first and you want a travel system, I think its a really decent one!

  • We have the Chicco Cortina with the Keyfit carseat and love it!  The stroller is kind of big when folded, but I have a crossover and it fits well in the back.  We use just the stroller now since DS has outgrown his infant seat.  We have looked into the Chicco double for when this LO arrives.

  • thanks for all the advice. that really helps! I didnt know there were other options besides the travel system for infants, actually. i just figured bc the baby was so small, they needed to be supported in the infant seat. Sounds like I have alot to learn :(

  • We are doing a Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Infant Car Seat and a Baby Trend Snap N Go stroller. I feel that it's less bulky than a travel system and WAY lighter.

The car seat snaps right into the Snap N Go so it's just like a travel system.

  • very interesting....thats another possible option....thank you!
