When to move to hard soled shoes?

DD wears the soft soled Pedipeds and See Kai Run shoes- and she just started really walking, but she's not walking a lot. When should I move her into the harder soled shoes?

We are starting to transition over to harder soled shoes.  They have been waling now for a month and are getting good at it.

When she's really established with walking.  And even at that point, I would only put them on her when you're out of the house.  Make sure the shoes are still flexible and bendy though.

He wore flexible sandles last summer when he was first walking. I bought him new tennis shoes in late August when he was almost 16 months and those are harder soles. He only wears them when we are outside. Inside we walk around in socks.
