If a pie crust or some sort of baking item recipe calls for shortening, what can I use in substitution for it? I really want to steer clear of shortening since it's soo fattening but I have a ton of recipes for different things that all call for shortening!

Hey girl!
You can substitute butter for shortening, in equal amounts IF you are using unsalted butter! 1 cup shortening = 1 cup unsalted butter.
