We just got the report back on my d&c and our baby had Triploidy. Does anyone have any experience with this? We are lost and don't really know what to do.
I had the same cytogenetic results, and I found this website helpful. My OB was very encouraging; she said this was a non-survivable mutation, and had no implications for future pregnancies. Good luck!
Our first baby had triploidy. The doctor said either 2 sperm fertilized one egg (most likely) or one egg had too many chromosomes. We didn't find out until 19 weeks, although always felt like something was off. You can read the whole story on my blog (siggy).
We did go on two have two more, unrelated miscarriages (one unexplained and one vanishing twin) but now have a healthy happy four month old.
PM if you need to talk, I did tons of research because I was convinced that all my eggs were messed up or all of my husbands? sperm were double headed (I know irrational) .
((hugs))
Baby boy lost 2.18.09 at 19w due to Triploidy
Natural miscarriage 10.5.09 at 7w, reason unknown
Twin B lost 2.15.10 at 10w, vanishing twin syndrome
Cayden born 9.06.10, Kennedi born 9.27.12
I am so sorry for your loss. My second loss was due to triploidy. It is a randomly occurring chromosomal abnormality meaning that it is not hereditary and there is no increased risk that it will happen again in subsequent pg's. Even though that's technically "good" news I thought it was really scary to hear. It might also make you feel better to set up a follow up appt with your dr so that you can discuss the results. (((hugs)))
Thanks ladies for all of your feedback. It really does help to hear that other people's stories. I feel like I am watching someone else's life. We have a follow up appt on Monday and I have to get blood work for the next 3 months for a partial molar pregnancy. I have a million questions and will hopefully get a lot answered. Thanks again.

Sorry for your loss and hope you get the answers you are looking for when you meet with your doctor Monday.
Do you know if you had a partial molar or was it just triploidy? In both there is 69 chromosomes, but not all triploidy cases are molar pregnancies.
