Hey Ladies,
Is there an average/ideal calorie intake amount for toddlers? More specifically 19 month olds? T is fighting meals, especially dinners, like no other and we can barely get her to eat. Its been going on for a couple of weeks, and she's been sick for a part of it...
Any suggestions or ideas would be great.
TIA!
Re: Ideal calorie intake for toddlers?
Here's a chart for ya'
If she's been sick she'll likely eat less, just like you and I don't eat as well when we are sick. When G is teething his eating also takes a hit. Honestly, I've stopped stressing out about it. G is a shrimp for size, but he's healthy and developing well in all other areas. I'm also worried about having him develop a food/weight complex over my stressing over his weight.

This site is awesome, tons of great info including what a toddler serving size is.....sooo much less than you think. Someone on another board today posted something that their pedi had up that said something along the lines of
" You as a parent are responsible for putting solid, nutritional food on the table, set meal and snack times. You are not responsible for how much of how little they eat."

This is great! Yeah, it is more stressful trying to feed her and patience has worn thin. We just found out she has strep so that's obviously adding to it. Thx again!
Thanks J! I like that quote, makes me feel a whole lot better! i'll definitely check that site out as well.
