TTC After a Loss

Starting Prometrium (FU to Potentially Silly Questions)

I got a call back from the doctor regarding whether or not I should have the 7 DPO progesterone test or not.  She said that since I have had short LPs in the past, she would just go ahead and treat with prometrium.  She said that there is a wide range of normal for progesterone levels, and she thinks it is more worthwhile to go ahead and do the treatment.  She would have preferred for me to start earlier (2DPO), but she wants me to go ahead and get started tonight.

For any of you ladies who has been on prometrium before, what should I expect?

TIA

Re: Starting Prometrium (FU to Potentially Silly Questions)

  • I've been on prometrium twice now and will continue to take it during my LP going forward. I haven't really experienced any side effects from it although I know some other ladies on here have had a different experience.  I only take it once a day so I take it at night before bed and wear a panty liner as there is definitely some leakage through the night.  I sometimes have minimal leaking during the day, but not much (not enough to wear a panty liner).  GL and I hope this helps!!
