Headaches.

Anyone else having terrible headaches?  I first thought I was getting them from one of my cravings - lemonade.  I never drink anything with sugar or caffeine, even before I was pregnant.  I thought it was the sugar and stopped drinking it.  I did fine for about a week and now the headaches are back just the last 2 days.  I did switch and started taking my prenatal after lunch and the headaches have come back.  I was taking them before bed, but I kept forgetting.  Could it be the vitamins?  Or is it just pregnancy headaches that I can't do anything about?  I cannot take tylenol and do not drink caffeine.  Is there anything else I can eat/drink to make them go away?

Thanks.

Re: Headaches.

  • It may just be hormones!!!  Feel better----

  • Me... its a normal pregnancy thing. Its a hormonal headache so even if you were able to take tylenol it really doesn't help much. I take a hot shower or but a warm wash cloth on my head/neck. It helps... sometimes

  • Poor thing, I'm sorry.

I'm getting them too. I have a bad one right now. I tried to knock it out with a bit of caffeine but it didn't do anything. I'm just going to lay down in a dark room when I get home.

    Feel better.

  • Agreed- it could just be hormones.

Try a warm compress either on your forehead or the back or your neck. Feel better.

  • I have headaches constantly... at least once a day. I'm quite certain they are all thanks to the hormones!
  • I have been getting headaches recently.  I usually never get them.  I had a really bad ones last Wednesday and on Monday.  I think its mostly stress but last Wednesday I took 2 tylenol and a few sips of wine and went to bed early. I had a little one today too.

  • At my 10 week appointment my doctor told me that morning sickness would decrease in the next month and headaches would increase and she was right at least in my case.  I have found that cold compresses across my head and warm across my neck help but honestly I have to result sometimes to Tylenol and a can of diet coke (like I did tonight).

    Feel better.

  • I have gotten migraines before pregnancy, and I thought I was having caffeine withdrawal with all of the headaches I'm getting.  But I still can't kick them with Tylenol or a bit of caffeinated cola.  A hot shower does help sometimes and peppermint oil can relieve it a bit but I am trying to curb one right now and there's not much that's helping! Tongue Tied Good luck!
  • Yes, I get them it seems like at least 2-3 times a week. I don't take anything for them less it gets too bad. I ended up having to take something over the weekend because the headache lasted all day. I've completely cut out caffeine from my diet since I found out I was pregnant.

  • I've been getting sinus headaches that last 2 days at a time lately. I use a netti pot, humidifier, tylenol, and hot showers but it seems like they just have to run their course. I asked my doctor about it yesterday and she said that if Zyrtec doesn't help then their isn't much to do but suffer. Boo.
  • I tend to get mine in the evening and have found that if I wait till I feel one coming on to take my prenatal vitamins it helps. I also asked about doubling up when they get really bad and got the ok and that seems to help a lot. Good Luck
