Re: Facilitator list

  • care to toss me one? my email is david_and_tracie   at  ya   hooo

    thanks!

ps - is it fair to say that using a facilitator is going to cost us extra? anyone wanna say about how much? we're more concerned with our preferences and the fees, than wait time. I'll wait a few extra months if it means meeting some of our other needs & wants.

mmp45@hotmail.com is my address. I also have a "cheat sheet" for the referral agenices, consultants, and facilitators we contacted and signed with this time around. I'll get it in order and pass it on.

  • Davez- we used a consultant, they have different packages, but ours ran $2,500

I'll email you about the agency we used for our homestudy too, they were fantastic.

  • I sent it to each of you.

Davez-  it does increase your cost...anywhere from $900-$15K... but usually around 2500.  What working w/facilitators will do is get your profile into more agencies and lawyers offices.

I was very against using a facilitator early on.  If you ask an agency, they'll tell you it is riskier.  I don't believe it anymore... there are good facilitators and consultants and bad ones.  Same with agencies.   I think it's great if you've been waiting for a while or you are anxious to help the process happen sooner rather than later.

  • Thank you for the list. I did have one question...once you chose your consultant, how long did you wait? The info was so helpful and I am just curious.

  • I started using a facilitator at the same time I started my home study process. By the time my home study process was complete I was matched with a baby boy who was just born. If you have the extra $, and it is legal in your state, I highly recommend a good facilitator or consultant if you want to try to speed things up.

If you know when your home study will be completed, many will start to look for situations due after that time. If you are complete usually you can start right away.
