question about extra rinse cycle. . .

do you do an extra rinse and spin or just a rinse?  on my washer I can select cold rinse and then it follows with the spin, am I doing something wrong?  how can I just do the rinse?

    I always thought that the spin just shakes the excess water out of the items. I would just run both.

    Are you talking about for the initial cold rinse or the extra rinse at the end?
