Things to do?

I'm looking for some places for Cora to play with kids around her age, and I'm not really sure where to search for this. I've asked Google, but its hard to know how good these are, so I'm asking you all for some recommendations.

Also - do you any of you girls get together for playdates?

Re: Things to do?

  • My daughter Breah (13months old) and I love to go to the Children's Museum. We bought a membership for 90$ since we have already been there twice in the last month. I know a lot of the ladies on here like to go to the MN Zoo but we have never been able to make it to any of their GTG's.

What area do you live in? Because of DH and I's work schedules Breah doesn't go to any daycare so we are always looking for kids her age to get together with.

p.s. We are in St. Paul

  • We live in Shakopee.I'm a SAHM, so Cora doesn't have much interaction with other kids, either. I have another friend who lives in Saint Paul, we try to get together semi-regularly. Maybe we should hang out?!

I was thinking of getting a membership to the Children's Museum, too. I've never been there, but have heard only great things. Big Smile

  • I know there are some ladies on here who have met other moms through their local ECFE classes.  You can check out story times at a library as well.  As far as actual playing, you can see if there are any indoor playgrounds to go to.  I know the one up here n New Brighton has a toddler area which was really nice.

Payne2B2008 (aka Patti) is the one who organizes the GTGs for SAHMs.  If you read down I believe she is planning one to the Zoo on Feb 7th.  There are a lot of moms with memberships so you will probably be able to hook up with one of them to get in free.

I already signed up for the Zoo. Big Smile I was quite excited to see that!

Also, I know about the inside playground in NB, but I don't know of any other that would be closer to me. I'm kind of looking for a place that's 30 min or less drive from Shakopee.

  • This indoor park is in Edina.  I doesn't say whether or not it is toddler friendly though.

  • You are not that far from me :) We plan at EP Mall sometimes but also the zoo is always a fun spot. Also we have done Musikgarten at St. Andrew before & the new session will start on Feb 1st (I am not sure as of right now if we are going to sign up or not but the link is below). Also there is Story time at the locale libraries. Plus three are Toddler Tuesdays at MOA that are always fun.

  • We go to the zoo atleast once a month. Our local library has story time which we attend when we don't do Toddler Tuesday. I just found out yesterday our library has stuff Mon-Wed that I had no idea. All free and all SAHM, also found a facebook group for SAHM in town, another thing to check into it.

I am in Northfield so more "south" too.

  • We go to storytime at the library and ecfe classes. I've been wanting to check out a kid-friendly coffee shop in Richfield I heard about. Our daughters are a couple months apart in age. Let me know if  you would want to meet there for a playdate sometime.

We went to story time at the B&N in EP mall and also spent some time in the play area. It seemed really busy for a mid-morning during the week, but I guess there aren't *that* many indoor places for kids to play. Oh, and there's a Caribou right be the play area - score.

And yes, we should get together, maybe at the EP mall?

Oh yeah, I've been there! I would go again. Last time I went Cora was just barely crawling, so I am sure she'll enjoy it more this time. Big Smile

If you are free next Friday they have a "Family  sing along" from 10:30-11:30am We went last time (it's held once a month) that had  a great time, the lady at leads it was sick so no sing was done but she had water colors for the kids to do.

I think we are going to go again this time.
