Cloth Diapering

Weleda Diaper Cream ???? Cornstarch?

Does anyone have any experience with Weleda Diaper Cream?  Is it okay to use with cloth?  What is your experience?  We are going to be transitioning to cloth as soon as I am healed from my c section.  The little one had a little bit of a red bottom so I have been using it to clear her up.  Also what about cornstarch is that okay for cloth?

Re: Weleda Diaper Cream ???? Cornstarch?

  • Weleda is probably fine for natural fiber diapers but I would use a fleece or disposable liner with any synthetic fiber.  You can just cut up pieces of fleece in a rectangle to cover the main area of your diaper or you can purchase both the fleece and disposable liners online.

Cornstarch is fine, although you don't really need it, don't use it if you suspect a yeast rash as it will make it worse.

IMHO Weleda diaper rash cream is the best, best, best at healing just about everything so I'd stick with using it as needed and get the liners.

Here's a good link for cloth safe creams though.

  • The Weleda I have has zinc oxide in it...a no no. So get the liners or cut up some fleece! But as PP said it's the best.
