We just started consistently last week when we dropped a bottle and went down to 3. Before that they were getting 32 oz a day and really didn't need water. Now they are eating more food, and down to 20 oz a day, so we give them a sippy of water during "snack" times (between bottles and meals).
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
My pedi recommended introducing a sippy of water at 6 mo. They get water with their 2nd solid meal of the day (dinner-ish) and sometimes at another random time. They are each taking 32 oz of formula a day so they aren't really thirsty. As the above poster said, it's more of a toy right now.

This exactly. They either throw it on the floor or expect me to feed it to them. Clearly it's a work in progress...

Within the last two weeks I started giving them sippy cups with water in them at lunch time. They love it!
This! I introduced it at 6 months with meals, but I wouldn't really say he DRANK it until close to a year old!
