Trouble TTC

Husband isn't producing sperm i guess. bad SA

My husband and I have been trying to coneive for a good two years now.We recently went to the doctor with concerns we could not conceive. My doctor wanted him to give a semen analysis. The results came back he didn't have any sperm. i didn't know this could happen. I don't even know what this means or where to go now. We are scheduling an appointment with the Urologist but I have no idea what to ask or what to even start to expect. Any advice?

  • I don't have any advice, but I wanted to say that I'm sorry.  I hope that you can go back to your doc and get a plan of action in place.

  • No advice since we haven't gotten to a SA yet, but I just wanted to say I'm so sorry you got that news. That had to be so upsetting to hear. I hope your DH's urologist can offer some answers for you.

  • I was given the same results a year ago.  Go see the urologist.  It could be a blockage of some kind and those can sometimes be repaired and work or it could be something he has had since birth.  It sucks. I won't sugar coat it for you.  My husband has low testosterone and some other issues, no blockage.  He was put on Clomid to see if that would help and it didn't.   So we are moving on to donors.  The IF board has a MFI check-in and an Azoospermia check-in.  The ladies will help you with any questions you have.
  • So sorry that you are dealing with this. We found out that DH has very, very low count and our RE referred us to a good Urologist that specializes in MFI. And that has really made all the difference. So I really recommend going to a Uro that specializes in Male Infertilty.

    GL to you!
