It's really great that you want to do something. Have they started a fund of any kind? We started a fieldtrip fund with a local non-profit in our son's name. If so, a contribution to that would be nice. A tree would be neat, depending on if that would work in their climate. A card and maybe a gift certificate for a dinner out would be awesome.
