Re: cries out in her sleep...

  • is this something new? DS will do this when he has an ear infection but thats the only time.

  • no... maybe a month and a half now... I thought it would go away, and maybe it still will... but I am just trying anything. I rarely post on here... usually just ready everything else... thought I would give it a shot.

  • DD's been doing this a little this week (I was away for work last week so I don't know how long for sure). I just watch the video monitor and if she's still fast asleep, I don't mess with her. She seems fine otherwise, so I'm not worried.  She's also only doing it a max of twice a night so far.

  • Sad maybe its a bad dream, sorry I'm not much help! Hopefully it goes away soon and she gets some restful sleep!!
  • Sometimes DD does that when she rolls into the side of the crib, but usually her crying out will startle her so much she'll roll back on to the mattress and just fall right back asleep.  Or at least, that's been my impression based on what I'm seeing and hearing when I check on her.  We don't have a video monitor...  Not due to lack of begging, but that's a different post.  ;-)

  • My DD does this sometimes too, and I have noticed it is usually when she is teething.  It actually happened last night.  I gave her some tylenol and it really seemed to help her.  I can actually see her tooth but it has not broken through the gum yet.

  • Mine's been doing this recently, but I think it's a good thing.  He used to cry to awake and need to be feed/soothed.  Now he cries out a few times and puts himself back to sleep.  I consider that self-soothing progress!
