Activities to do with infant

Hi ladies :) I was wondering if any of you have any tips or suggestions on places I can take my infant. I find that now that we're in the groove of things it's easier to take my guy out and about. Are there any free or relatively inexpensive places that offer group play or interaction...or do you recommend a place to just take your LO...maybe somewhere that just appeals to a young one? I live on the eastside for reference. Thanks!

  • 1) Sign up for (free) weekly Evergreen Hospital Baby Classes. You don't have to deliver there to participate. Great place to sit, relax, commiserate and share ideas with other Moms. I still meet up with my (0-3mo) group!

    2) Birth & Beyond now has free Mommy Meet Ups on M/W/F - but they are in Seattle.

    3) Stroller Strides - when the weather gets better maybe? It costs, but a few of my friends really love it - exercise and socialization!

    4) Meet other new mommies from the Bump and go for Coffee

    5) Itsy Bitsy Yoga? A friend of my raved about it...

    6) Lots of idea on my blog (linked in my siggy) - not everything is for infants, but I personally found going to kid-related events (when I felt like getting out) was fun because you don't have to worry about looking out of place changing a diaper, crying fits, feeding etc. There are a lot of Moms at the movies listed on the daily links too - that fun will end at around 7 months so enjoy it while you can!

  • We go to Evergreen's parent-baby class every week and love it.  From there a bunch of us have formed a playgroup.  At this point, DS and I just have a lot of playdates/mommy dates and/or run errands.  Your local library might have baby storytime.  Ours does, but it conflicts with our Evergreen class so we haven't gone yet.  We also take walks every day.  I find even just going to the mall and walking around is great for me and stimulating for him.  Once he's older we'll starting doing things like the zoo and children's museum.

I'd be happy to meet up with you with or without your LO for a date sometime if you're interested.Smile

  • 100% do the Evergreen classes!! They're fantastic an really a great place to ask questions and get ideas an support. And to meet other moms for a play group. Right now do activities that you want to do. Target will be just as interesting to a two monthOld as story time. So do stuff for you now. Meet friends for coffee. Shop. Listen to your own music in the car. Pretty soon your kid will care and you'll be doing kid activities for a long time. Not that that's not fun but while it doesn't matter to your kid I wouldn't bother. Except the evergreen classes. Those are more for you anyway. But go!!!

  • Agree with all pp's especially about the evergreen classes. We sometimes go to the all ages story time at the library because he likes to watch older kids. Home depot is really exciting too. Lights department, colorful paint sample cards, plants to see and smell etc.

  • Also, it's never too early to start going to story time at the local libraries!
