Detergent for NB

Sorry if this has been asked a bazillion times, I looked around and couldn't find an answer.  I plan on sticking with my tide original powder but I'm thinking maybe I should start with an unscented detergent for a few months.  I know the free & clears are a no go right?  So what did you use for the nb phase?

Re: Detergent for NB

  • I've got Rockin' Green for the diapers. Everything else gets Sunlight Green Free and Clear, for now. Probably when those run out, I'll try Ecos, as Costco sells it and I could just use the same soap for everything that way.
  • I used original Tide powder in the newborn stage and didn't have any problems with it.

Oh ok thanks.  Did you buy the scented?  I mean sensitive skin is not really an issue in my family but for the price of Rockin Green I'd rather be sure you know?

  • For CDs we use Rockin Green and for DD's clothes we use Seventh Generation Delicate care. DD has sensitive skin so I don't trust all the chemicals and scents in Tide, etc.

You can use Seventh Generation Delicate care on CDs. Its safe. :)https://pinstripesandpolkadots.com/detergentchoices.htm

It was thrown in with some used diapers I bought; if I was choosing, I'd buy unscented but I think what I've got is watermelon. I generally try to stay away from scents just to avoid extra useless chemicals.

Personally, I have my doubts that the expensive detergents are necessary. I would definitely stick to free-and-clear formulations in general, though.
