TTC After a Loss

ladies who get O pains

This is a fairly new phenom for me, as I either didn't notice them pre-m/c or they are just stronger now.

I've had them for about 3 days, pretty strong this morning, big ole +OPK and now they're basically gone.  Should O today or tomorrow, but I've never paid attention to when the cramping goes away.

So, when do they start/go away for you?

Re: ladies who get O pains

  • Since my loss, I cramp starting around O time, pretty much all the way through my LP. But the sharper cramps usually stop the day after O for me.

  • Before the m/c it was a quick swoop of pain 2-3 days before/during. Now I'm not really sure. I've been more crampy this whole cycle than before. But I think I agree with Theresa, where I just notice it more, maybe.

  • I've had two different kinds, and probably only a total of about 4 months ever.

Most of the time its a sharp twinge or two on one side right where the ovary is and it corresponds with when charting says my O date was.  Last month, the only time I've felt it post m/c, it was dull aches for an entire day (corresponded with my +OPK) in BOTH ovaries.  The ache sort of reminded me of how my ovaries felt while my m/c was happening (am I alone in that mine ached for days while I was miscarrying?).  FWIW, the girls were also super achy last month (second month since m/c) and my doc said it was likely my body sorting itself out still.

This, and I never used to get them (or notice) before my losses. They've been worse since the 2nd loss.

I have also noticed them being stronger since loss #2.

  • I notice it after I get my positive opk so probably just as ovulation is happening. Just a dull ache. For me it lasts about 4 or 5 hours. But once or twice it lasted all day.

  • I always had mild O pain before my losses, but now they are much stronger and usually only on the day I O'd.  Before, they would be really mild and I would have them on and off leading up to O.  The last cycle, they were almost taking my breath away and I jokingly said to DH, "I think I'm ovulating" and then three days later, found out I O'd that day.

  • Before m/c I think I got them the day I actually O'd.  But I just used OPKs and didn't chart, so I'm not for sure.  After m/c they were more intense and lasted longer.  I usually got them the day before, day of, and day after O.

  • These last two cycles I got them. The one last cycle was quite bad and the cramping lasted as long as yours. This cycle it wasn't as bad, it lasted about 2 days and wasn't nearly as painful. I hope they don't totally go away though. I like them!

  • I have only had them a couple of times and both were pre m/c.  Mine lasted for the day that I O'd and then were gone the next day.  I have talked to ladies who have them for several days leading up to O, but then they tend to go away, or at least become less severe.
