Trouble TTC

Follicle size and HCG trigger

I had my day 13 u/s today.  I had one 13mm follicle and a bunch of 8mm and smaller (5 and 3mm).  I didn't get a "diagnosis" per se, but the nurse who reviewed my u/s said there were several smaller follicles, which are indicative of PCOS.  I'm going back in Friday for another u/s and hopefully trigger.

This will be my first HCG trigger, so I'm not exactly sure how it works.  Does anyone know, are only the "mature" eggs released from the trigger?  Sounds like they are interested in the 13mm follicle getting big enough to trigger by Friday.

 Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Re: Follicle size and HCG trigger

  • Most likely only the mature egg(s) will release.  I think.  My docs office doesn't trigger unless your largest is 20mm and your lining is above 7mm.  GL!

  • My RE considers 18 mature and will trigger at that point.
