How do you go up and down the stairs with your LO and an infant?
DD goes up and down on her own (I go behind her) but she isn't that reliable and takes forever! She will go up two stairs and get distracted by a piece of lint stop and play with it. Going down she goes on her stomach but same thing or she likes to stop and play at the middle part where the stairway breaks and turns.
Re: If you have a two-story house
You might not think you can do it...but you will probably be able to carry both. I just carried both my boys down the stairs tonight and they are 31 and 24 pounds.
But also, in the next 6-7 weeks before baby comes she might get better at going up and down the stairs. Also, just let her do it...let her take her time. The more you let her go up and down on her own the better she will get.
Lastly, set up as many things as you can downstairs, and only go upstairs when you need to. We had everything set up downstairs so that we only went upstairs at nap time. We used the pnp changing table, had plenty of diapers and wipes down there, and of course most of our toys and feeding supplies.
Another one who carried both.
Still can and do it from time to time when they're feeling cuddly and they're 3 and 4 now!
But.... you've got a bit of time.
Maybe make up a song for the stairs that keeps her moving. One step for each beat or 2?
We had a song - changed the words to "we like to party" to "scoot on your bottom". Then I'd walk either in front of him or behind so if he slipped my legs would break his fall.
Or maybe make it a game? Race Mommy up the stairs?
We play "I'm gonna get 'cha!!" on the way up to keep them moving faster and not lolly gagging. They love the tickles at the top!
You'll figure out something that works for you!
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
I carry both of them all the time. Up the stairs, down the stairs, to the car, etc.
The older one is HEAVY at 28 pounds, and the baby is 15. That is a lot of weight. But, for me, it is easier to just carry both of them than to go up 2x

This is basically how I carry them (from this past weekend)
