I saw ur post about the breastfeeding...so I had quite a bit of trouble with both of my sons bf. Like horrible, bleeding pain. I ended up giving up on the latch part and did pumping. I at my sons 3 yr dentist check up was told he could be midly tongue tied. Did ur daughter get better I assume since u stayed with it or did you get it repaired? Just found that interesting that u dealt with the same issue! So frustrating as a new mom not knowing what you are doing wrong to only find out 3'yrs later why

Re: Iris427
I think my daughter basically outgrew it. I had a horrible time breastfeeding her for the first month or so--my nipples would get blood-filled blisters and they felt like someone had poured acid on them (I hope none of the first timers are reading this LOL).
I saw the hospital LCs and went to La Leche League and all I got was "yep she's latched right, the pain will go away in a few days." But it didn't go away for weeks and I was so frustrated and upset. I kept thinking there must be something wrong with me. I was so stubborn that I just got through it until it got better. But I can absolutely see why someone else would have decided to pump or use formula instead. I think I was a bit insane to go through all that!
Now at least I know for this time to have my kid's tongue checked out and get it clipped if they have a tongue tie. So hopefully I won't be suffering so much this time around.

Oh.Dear.God.
I am not looking forward this... I am so nervous for eveything that can go wrong in trying to BF. I just hope I can do it.
