How will I ever get through the next 9-10 weeks? We met with her last week but I'm afraid to post too much on-line. Want to share and talk about things and get opinions but too afraid to do so on such a public site.
I can't believe how s-l-o-w time seems to be going . Getting really excited but trying to remain caustiously optimistic at the same time.
Re: This waiting is pure T-O-R-T-U-R-E
It's not easy! But stay busy, get those things done that you need to get done before you have no time, and take that trip you've been putting off!
Good luck!
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
I learned to knit while waiting. Seriously finding a new hobby kept me a little bit sane!
Also, go attend a baby care class, if you haven't yet.
Start figuring out how you want to organize baby photos (I wish I was more organized).
See movies! Go out to eat! I am sure you've been saving dimes for adoption but enjoy having alone time for the next several weeks.
Clean your homes like you've never cleaned before
Start your registry.
If you are travelling to baby, check out what stores you'll need and map out where they are located. Figure out housing. Price check flights and figure out if you want to buy them early and wait or last minute (benefits to both!).
And if you want to chat on our fb page about details, that's why it's there.... somewhere more secure than here.
Once you are matched the wait is absolutely torture!! Our wait was only three weeks from the day we were matched to when baby A was born but we had another week with her home before the BF rights were terminated so we had actually four weeks of waiting before we knew for sure she would be staying with us. That was the longest month of our lives!!
Get all the things done you want to get done before baby comes home. All I can say is try to keep yourselves busy. If you'd like to ask me any questions or just talk PM me, I'd love to share more of my story or answer any questions you may have.
Good luck and please keep us posted with updates. Just wondering, will you be traveling to get your baby?
Good luck! Yay! That is so exciting. I know the wait can be so frustrating because you are so ready!
As the other ladies have mentioned, start your registry if you want. Keep yourself busy. Clean your house...even the things that you've never even though about cleaning before! Now is the time to do it. Read a book (I know you are thinking, "How on earth can I even focus on reading a book right now?!"). Clean out that closet you have been putting off. Go through all of your clothes and decide if there are any to give away.
Also, if you like to cook then you can go ahead and "freezer cook"..I've never tried this before but I know plenty of people who swear by it. You can go ahead and pre-cook meals and stick them in the freezer and then once your baby is here you just have to stick them in the oven and heat them up!
Thanks ladies! It's funny because normally I am one to b!tch about how fast time flies and where have the years gone and now it feels like it just came to a screeching halt! Family and friends are talking baby showers (I do realize the controversy here in having them before the baby but we have decided to go through like it's all happening because regardless of this outcome, at some point it will). But registering is something we definitely have to do and soon! But of course I have a few concerns about that (will save for the FB board).
We are not traveling, she is very local.
Auburnbride, I'm not sure if we are FB friends, there is a chance, but if we are then I have forgotten your IRL name
