*sniff* my little boys are growing up

We had to move the boys' crib mattresses down to the lowest level last night - Will has started pulling himself up on the railing, and I'm sure Dash isn't far behind.

As a side note, I'm kind of surprised Will's doing this - neither of the boys are "real" crawling (just army crawling) and I didn't think he'd be pulling up on stuff until he'd been "real" crawling for a while? Oh well!

Re: *sniff* my little boys are growing up

  • that is a little "sniff", but yay! another milestone!!

They grow up soooo fast!  I really can't imagine Adair anything but an itty bitty baby and she is already soooo much bigger than she was when she was born.  It really is unbelievable.

Crying It's SO true! I shed some happy tears tonight as I nursed and rocked Libby before bedtime...today's her last day of being under one year old. I looked at photos from the past year and especially from the first three months of her life...I cannot believe my little mush is now a {nearly} walking and talking little person. Amazing! And bittersweet. I remind myself that I've chosen to have a child, not just a baby...but these baby days fly by too fast. Here's a quote that I think sums it up just right:

A baby is someone you carry inside you for nine months, in your arms for three years and in your heart till the day you die. ~ Mary Mason

  • it's crazy huh! who knows w/the boys...some babies skip the whole crawling thing and go straight to walking...they think that crawling is over rated ;)

so true! and totally funny and cute that you called her your little mush :)

  • they get big too fast!!  now the important question - does he know how to sit back down?!?  That milestone really messed up J's sleep because he couldn't figure out how to sit back down (especially when really tired).

and post like these (and especially ones asking Qs about the newborn stage) make me sad about stuff I can't remember.  I really had to think about this one.  But J pulled up on things before crawling and he really didn't crawl for a really long time.  He was just starting to get the hang of crawling mid to late Oct. and then took his first steps (only 3 or so, but was up to 10 w/in days) early Dec.

Oh definitely - he's excellent at sitting, can get there from lying on his stomach, pulling up on the rails, etc. It's almost a problem because even when he's reeeeeally tired, he likes sitting up in his crib to look around, and you have to convince him that what he really wants to do is lie down and sleep lol.

  • Yay congrats on the milestone!!! Very exciting =)

I totally hear ya on the growing up part though! I was just shopping for B since MH & I are going snowboarding soon so I need something to keep B warm since we'll probably take him out to play in the snow. And I had to shop in the toddler section cuz B's wearing 12-18 mo (due to length) already! Then I was like crap, he's growing up!

Yeah, like W, B knew how to sit back down at the same time when he started pulling up and I had heard from all these parents that their kids get stuck standing up in the middle of the night and then the parent would have to go help them sit back down again =P So I was preparing myself to have to do that in the middle of the night, but then it never happened! So consider ourselves lucky =)

One thing is to start looking for things that are in reach when they stand up...I ended up calling Poison Control a week ago because B had reached over on a table and there was a box of wipes...and he started eating some wipes! At first, I thought it would be ok since wipes are made for babies, but then I checked the Huggies website and it said "Ingestion: seek medical attention" and I freaked out. Luckily, Poison Control said it's still okay, and B was fine so I was relieved (although he was a bit fussy that day...might've had a tummyache?).

My dudes too! I can still get them into their separates in the 9 month size, but anything one piece is 12 months.  Indifferent

same here.  long torso.  Separates are fine in his age size, but one pieces need to be a size up!
