100th day of school project.

I need some creative ideas for a friend.  She sent me this e-mail:

"I thought I would turn to all my creative minds to get some ideas for DD's 100th day of school celebration poster. She needs 100 things displayed on a poster and they need to all be the same, 100 bottle caps, 100 froot loops, 100 hair bows, etc. The creative thing will be coming up with a design..."

Any ideas?

Anyone can be cool, but awesome takes practice!

Re: 100th day of school project.

  • there is a child's book called "the 100th day of school" or similar...they make 100 cookies, jump rope 100 times, etc.  Maybe it would give them an idea.  Options are open...stickers, crayons, dots, ribbons, buttons, or 100 things a given olor (child'd fav or school color) GL!

  • I teach K and as a class we made 100 hearts - poster board cut out in the shape of a heart and glued 100 Sweetheart candy hearts inside.  It was a cute display since the 100th day was in February.
  • I remember doing this in first grade.  I did 100 pennies on a poster board (it read out 100)

  • DD used 100 gummy leaves to make a tree and she also made 100 thumbprints into clouds. I remember another kid used 100 gummy sharks in an ocean.
  • stickers, cotton balls, candy, pictures from a magazine, thumb prints,

I had one student in K who wrote their name 100 times! Luckily it was something short!

  • I'm a former kindergarten teacher.  I like the idea to cut out pictures from a magazine.  Legos are also a cool idea, and candy is always neat.

The worst one I've ever seen?  French fries.  A mom actually let her kid glue 100 french fries on a poster & he brought it in.  Makes me want to throw up just thinking about it!

  • Thanks everyone for the ideas.  I hope this is good enough for her. :-)

  • Hello!  I am a lurker, as I hope to be a SAHM after the birth of our baby.

I currently teach 2nd grade, but our kindergarten classes do a 100th day project every year.

Some of the projects I've seen are:

    - a little girl took a picture of herself hugging 100 people/things, printed them out and glued into a 100

-100 cotton balls made into a snowman

    - 100 reason why they like kindergarten (may need moms help :))

    -100 mini oreos made into a 100

-100 goldfish crackers swimming in the poster board sea

    Hope this helps!
