Stay at Home Moms

The longest you have gone without leaving the house?

I just realized today that I haven't left our house (with the exception of getting the paper) in over a week.  It has been so frigid and thankfully it just so happened that we didn't have any appointments last week.  DH finally took my car in on Wednesday to get something checked so he picked up some groceries on his way home.  I actually haven't had a single reason to get in my car and go somewhere.  So I haven't:)  I'm surprised our local Target hasn't called to see if I'm okay, lol.

  • LOL about Target :-)

I love the days that my car doesn't leave the driveway so a week at home sounds wonderful to me, especially with this horridly cold weather!

  • Often, I won't drive anywhere from Monday through Saturday.  This is Texas, though, so it doesn't get that cold.  We walk up to the playground a lot.  And I have a few friends in the neighborhood, we get together for playdates.

I hardly ever have errands to run and I never go shopping out of boredom.

  • OMG - I would die w/o leaving the house.

I can remember a couple of years ago, I didn't leave the house in 2 days because of massive amounts of snow.

I hate, hate, hate not leaving the house. Cold usually doesn't deter me from leaving. I have a car starter so I leave a heated house to a heated car to other heated buildings.

  • 2 days.  Any longer than that and I start to feel like a hermit and my DD is climbing the walls.  Our Meijer is only 3 miles so if nothing else we run over there to get milk or something.

Ditto this.  I would seriously cry if I was stuck inside any longer

  • I would go absolutely insane if I was stuck in the house for more than a day. As it is, we have been stuck here at least one day a week for the past few weeks due to all the freaking snow/snow days we are having and I am ready to gouge my eyes out. They are calling for another snowstorm on Wednesday - I just want to cry at the thought of another snow day.

  • Maybe a week when DD was 8 months old and had rotovirus?  I can't stand being home all the time.  There are weeks we do not use the car, but we can walk a lot of places, so that is not a big deal.
  • When LO was just born I had to purposely go outside for 5 minutes to get fresh air because it had been a week and a half. Now I usually only go about 2-3 without having to go to the store or go work out.

  • We stay home pretty much all week, every week.
  • A couple days?  I am totally fine being at home for days on end... I am a homebody and I don't have a car (DH takes it to work) so it's great for me!  We were home all week, aside for Thursday, I guess... went to my grandmom's house. We have tons of visitors and take walks when it's warm, but it's been sooo snowy, icy, rainy, and COLD.  And my kids are sick so eh.
  • 2 days. It was right after I had my second baby. I go stir crazy if I have to stay home to long, and I invent errands to run.

  • I went a week last year when I had H1N1. Just because? I don't think more than 24 hours. I go bonkers!!!

This is kind of how I am.  I have so many little projects and then actual work (with our business) to do that leaving the house is actually a nuisance this time of year.  It's cold, I waste gas warming my car (but I LOVE remote start!) and if I have to take the kids with?  Ugh, bundling everyone takes forever!  They're content to play (with a good fight now and then), watch dvds, and cheat at Candy Land!  But in the summer?  Outside, outside, outside!:) Shorts, tank top, flip flops and I'm out the door...so much easier to get out of the house and doing stuff....

  • The most is 2 days.  By the end of the 2nd day, I NEED to get out.
  • I am a mix.  Some weeks are super busy and I'm motivated to leave each day.  Other weeks I can be inside for 5 days in a row and be fine.  This age seems to require the kids to leave the house at least every other day b/c they seem to go a bit nuts, so I've been planning lately.  I also leave the house each morning to run or gym on my own, so I leave the house every day, it's just before anyone else is up.
