Postpartum Depression

Update: PPD confirmed...

Saw my midwife, and she agrees that I have PPD along with regular depression during this pregnancy.

I will be seeing her OB tonight. I think she said he is likely going to prescribe me Wellbutrin.

It was scary to tell her all that I felt. I have never fully come out and talked about my thoughts. I told her everything.... This feels.....real now.

Thanks for listening.

  • I'm glad you told her everything.  I had to write a list and take to my appointment because I was afraid I was going to chicken out and say everything.  You have taken the biggest and toughest step.  Now, it's time to get better.

  • Glad to hear your MW sees it as a real condition and is willing to use medication (some are against it). I hope you will be feeling better soon and enjoying the rest of that beautiful life growing inside you. Keep us updated. H2H

Yea. I originally sent her a very wordy email confessing everything I was going through and thinking BECAUSE I didn't want to forget or chicken out, exactly!! She was very glad I did that! So am I...

Thanks to you both for support.

Do either of you have experience with Wellbutrin?

  • I dont. I take Celexa which I love but I did have someone close to the family take that thru her pregnancy and it was great for her and she had a healthy, full term baby boy. And no need for thanks.....thats what were all here for. Always message me if you need to take and dont feel like posting! We will never judge. I REALLY hope it works for you

Actually, the OB prescribed Zoloft instead. He says his patients have great results with it, and says I should see a difference in a few days.
