We are thinking of using Clare as a middle name - Claire is DH's grandmother's name - but we are thinking of using the spelling Clare because we love Ireland and that is how it is spelled in Ireland (i.e. County Clare)
Thanks everyone. Seems like Claire is the more popular way.
Yes I (and my husband) are Irish, but I was thining Clare moreso because that's how St. Clare is spelled not really after County Clare. Being Catholic I kind of like the idea of spelling it the same way as the saint's name. Still undecided though...

Both work, I guess, but I always think something is missing when I look at Clare. I would go with Claire.
LOL, though, I just remembered a post from a long time ago when someone wanted to spell it Clayre! That's always an alternative .
Claire for a girl.
Clare is the male spelling. It's my grandfather's middle name.
The name itself is lovely, but I prefer Clare.
