ovulation test not working?

Okay i have done these for 2 months and I never get a positive test result that I am ovulating (i have even tested twice 10 hours apart in the same day during my fertile weeks).  Anyone hav any suggestions?  Should I can my doctor?  I is the first result brand...  thanks!

are you testing on the right days? My RE told me it depends on your cycle, for example my cycles are 34-35 day so i O usually around day 19th or 20th.

 Have you done an ovulation calendar? It will show  you what days to expect to O just enter your last day of your period and how long your cycle days are.

Are you charting?  Are you getting your period regularly? My advice would be to use fertilityfriend.com and keep track of your temps.  It will be helpful for you because it will confirm whether or not you are ovulating (when you get the rise in temps) and it should give you a sense of when you should be using your OPKs.  In the meantime, you might try a different brand- I use the cheap internet OPKs and you can see the line grow a little darker as you get closer, assuming you are ovulating.  Or, you can try the clear blue easy fertility monitor which should also show you the days leading up to ovulation because it measure different hormones.  GL to you

ok still kinda confused how to do all that...  I have had really short periods since getting off the pill a few months ago so if my period started on 1-9 and ended on the 13th  how long is my cycle?? Sorry if this is a dumb question!!

Hi,

The length of your cycle means the number of days between day 1 of period and day 1 of your NEXT period.  The number of days you bleed doesn't matter.

 Looks like you should read Taking Charge of your Fertility and get back to us.

If you go 60 days without a period, call your doctor.

I agree with PP. It can be hard to know if the OPK's are working if you aren't sure you are ovulating. Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book for helping sort out what is going on with your body. If after you start charting you are pretty sure you are ovulating, and you still aren't getting +OPKs, try a different brand. I had better luck with the internet cheapies (search for ovulation tests on amazon--it's like $10 for 30 of them). With the drugstore ones, it was never clearly positive even though I knew I had ovulated. With the cheapies, it was very clear each time.

Gotcha!! thanks for all your advice i will check out the other board and do you have the brand name you got on amazon that worked better than the store bought ones??

sorry not sure how this site works yet-  pretty new- do you remember the brand or name of the 30 tests you got on amazon?
