Past due

Anyone else like me and past due? Since its midnight (of course can't sleep) I am now 5 days past due and it doesnt seem like my baby ever wants to leave his "man cave" (thats what my friend is calling it). Its so frustrating... My mom is getting all pissy at me because she flew out here (ca) from TX and really wants to meet her first grandbaby... I'd like to meet him too!!!

It's tough being overdue. I was two weeks overdue with my daughter when she finally made her arrival. Just tel people that the baby will come when the baby is good and ready!

My DS was 5 days past due.  I was so content being pregnant and then my due date hit and it was such a toll on my mind and body to keep being pregnant.  It felt so weird when people would ask when I was due and I'd have to say 2, 3, 4 or 5 days ago! 

But, he will come out  - he can't stay in there forever!   And tell your Mom to chill out - stressing you out and being pissy will just make things tense.  And it's ridiculous - who actually thinks a baby will come on his/her actual due date?!?

It's definitely rough being overdue, and it's so much worse when you've got people breathing down your neck to have that baby!  Here I am at 41w 4d and I feel like I'm gonna go crazy!  My brother-in-law is in college on the other side of the country and he was home for 5 weeks over the winter break.  He left yesterday and doesn't plan on coming back home until next Christmas.  We thought for sure baby would be here before he had to go back to school, but here I am, still pregnant.  I just keep reminding myself that due dates are just estimates, that normal gestation time is 40-42 weeks (so I'm technically not even overdue!), and that first time moms (unless induced) average giving birth around 41w 5d.  So try not to get discouraged and don't let anyone put pressure on you.  There is a reason your LO hasn't been born yet, and you won't stay pregnant forever.
