M has been on the Target Sensitive formula pretty much from the beginning. When he was a month old, I gave up pumping for the most part and supplemented with the regular Similac, and it seemed to make him gassy so I went to sensitive pretty quickly. I am just wondering if milk is going to upset his tummy. I know I won't have any way of knowing until we try later on this week, but does anyone have experience with this?
Also, my regular store brand milk says on the label that the milk comes from cows not treated with rbST. I know this doesn't make the milk organic, but I was wondering if this is the only hormone to be concerned with.

Re: Another transitioning to whole milk question(s)
not sure about the hormone or organic part as we just give regular old fashioned Whole Milk. as far as making the transisition, we were afraid because Sabrina had an awful 10th month/PoopGate2010 and it was a result of dairy. so we took our Pedi's advice and introduced one ounce of whole milk at a time- and did this for one week at a time. It was a LONG process but we're finally on Whole Milk as of Saturday and have had absolutely no issues transitioning.

We're still in transition right now with this. We've thought S was lactose intolerant from the beginning so she was on sensitive formula as well. Recently, we tried S on 2 oz of regular milk with 6 oz of formula for about a week - not good. She was gassy, total poopgate a couple of hours after each bottle and was fussy. We've now switched her to 2 oz of goat's milk with 6 oz of formula and she is doing much better. I'm going to call her doctor later this week to see if we can try Lactaid milk or soy next - she wanted us on goat's milk if regular milk didn't work.
As for the organic question, I don't have any experience with that. Sorry....
L has also been on the Target sensitive forever. We started transitioning last week and it was all kind of a mess! After the second day he was even refusing the sippy and I think it's because it hurt his tummy.
After about four days I swapped him to Lactose free milk and within a day everything cleared right up. He hasn't had any problems in the five days since so we will keep him on it for a while.
FWIW, the carton also says that it comes from cows not treated with the hormone, so while it is not organic I ok with it!
Hormone free isn't the same as organic. But honestly, I'm not that concerned about the organic part. Hormone-free, yes--that's important. We use a local dairy that is hormone free, but not necessarily organic. Good enough for me.
Right now, labeling legislation isn't very good when it comes to products that call themselves "organic." You can pretty much slap that label on anything and charge twice the price for it. So I'm always a bit suspicious there.
Of course, I grew up in farm fields and covered in pesticides!!
