Is this normal?

I went to the doctor today who did a pregnancy test and told me that I'm not pregnant any longer.

Here's my timeline:

BFP on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Started bleeding Saturday with a big gush of red blood after passing some tissue. Blood tapered off to light bleeding and that's all I've been experiencing since then.

Is that normal? Shouldn't there be more blood? I was only 5 weeks along, but this just feels like a super light period.

I think you will probably continue to bleed for a while longer, up to two weeks possibly. It might get a lot heavier and lighter and then heavier again and back and forth until it all passes. But I would call your doc in the morning for further advice. I am really sorry for your loss.

mine is super bad and heavy so I guess everyone is just very different. have you called your doc?

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a very early miscarriage as well. I bled heavily for two days, light the next day and spotting the following two days. So, compared to what some women on this board have experienced, the bleeding was for a relatively short time period. However, it was definitely way more blood than any period I've ever had.

I don't know if there is a "normal" miscarriage. Women can have different experiences when it comes to going through a miscarriage. Did your doctor perform an ultrasound? Did s/he request a follow-up appointment?

Im sorry for your loss. No mater how far along you were, every loss is hard. My first MC was at 5w4d and it seems like it was there and gone so fast. I bleed really heavy for two days, spotted for two more and that was it. I had a normal cycle after that. I ovulated at the same time as normal and AF came at the normal time, too. Every MC is different, though. The one I just went through was completely different than my first. It seemed to just drag on and on.
