rec toy for 18 month old

my mil is coming to visit and wants to buy my dd a toy.So any good toys out there for the 18-24 month old crowd. She is on the younger side.

The price range is around 10-35.

    Out of all the thousands of $ Ive spent  in the last 15 months, I have to say that the $12.99 Playschool Corn popper is the best investment so far. DS LOVES it! It is a bit loud, but he loves to walk around & push it all over the house.

    Not sure if your DD likes to color, but mine LOVES the Color Wonder books.  They are about $7 each, so maybe she could get some of those?  They also sell blank paper to use the markers with to just "draw."  Any specific books you've wanted- maybe "Once Upon a Potty"?  :-)  DD is in LOVE with books as well.

    My DD loves this toy.  She pulls it all over the house, stacks the blocks a million different ways and cracks up when the croc laughs.

    Mine also love the popper but be prepared for the constant noise :).

    Also the dirt devil vacuum, $15 I think .and we have a FP shopping cart that I dont think was too much...?

    FP tea set (pot sings & stuff).  

    2 other xmas gifts that have been popular esp if your LO likes elmo- the elmo 'purse' (it is plastic and has a lipstick, keys, changepurse & comb in it) and the elmo medical kit.

    DD loves her Mr. Potato Head. She is also getting very into having tea parties with the tea set my friend got her for Christmas, and her doctor kit is pretty fun too :) (she's actually starting to get into the pretend play kinds of things... things she has seen us doing and can imitate)

    DS (17.5 months) is really into Mega Blocks these days.  And wooden or foam puzzles. 
    DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.

    The shopping cart is a big hit here, as well as any kind of sticker. Obviously that needs to be monitored....Smile
