New to The Bump

Hello

Hi,

Brand new to The Bump! DH and I have made the decision to TTC this year. We're holding off our official "attempts" until the summer so this winter and spring I'm focused on getting healthy - good vitamin regimen, sensible exercise plan, going for a dental cleaning and a general physical, some reading on conception, and trying to stay focused on what I CAN control.

We've been married 5 years this summer. I'll be graduating with my master's degree in June. DH and I finally feel like we're ready to dive into parenting, although saying that out loud is still pretty scary! We're the last couple in his family to have children, although we haven't felt particularly pressured by either of our families. We have 7 wonderful nieces and nephews that we adore but we're so excited to even be thinking about having our own!

I'm definitely a planner by nature and I'm really working to put my need to control the details aside because I know when it comes to conception/pregnancy (and parenthood), there's a big need to go with the flow. I'm grateful to have this time to prepare emotionally and physically.

I would love recs for any boards that might be helpful and I'd love to hear from anyone else THINKING about trying to conceive or how your own plans went during the TTC phase or any things that you wish you'd had a chance to do or prepare for if you'd had the opportunity!

Glad to be here,

Elizabeth
